Creating a Quest Starting Point

To create the starting point for your Quest, simply create a “place” at the location of your desired start point. Include this introductory text in the Description Field to explain the Quest to your users:

Welcome to the [NAME OF QUEST] Quest! This Quest begins at [DESCRIBE LOCATION], and has [INSERT NUMBER OF STOPS] stops. [ADD A SENTENCE THAT WILL MAKE THE QUEST SOUND ENTICING].

In order to complete a Quest, you will need to follow the clues you discover to find the next stop.

There are two ways to play, you can go to the Quest start point and explore in person, or you can play from home!

If you’re Questing in person you can find Quest Stops by using the Augmented Reality mode. Go back to the map view, and tap the AR icon at the bottom of your screen. Head to where you think the next stop is, when you get close your phone will buzz to let you know you’re on the right track. It will buzz again to let you know you’ve found a Quest Stop. Tap on the marker to discover your next clue! If you don’t want to use AR, you can use the Questing from home method below.

If you’re Questing from home you can find Quest stops by zooming in on the map from Map Mode. Zoom in to the right area, and a Quest Stop will appear - tap on it to get your next clue. Be sure to switch to satellite mode in your settings, especially if you’re having trouble finding landmarks and quest stops!

Now let’s try finding the first stop! It’s very near the location of this marker - so it should be easy to find. Head to the Quest Start point and find the marker in Augmented Reality Mode, or zoom in on the map to find it. Tap the marker to get your first clue.

For all Quest Starting Points, set “Quest Type” to Quest start.
