Driftscape for Web
Driftscape for Web is the complement to the Driftscape app, allowing visitors to get started on their exploration journey before they leave home. Completely branded with your own logo and colours, Driftscape for Web is easy to embed in your website.
To set up your Driftscape for Web, please connect with your Driftscape representative or email support@driftscape.com
Once Driftscape for Web has been embedded into your website, it will automatically pull in all the content mapped under your organization(s) in the CMS [Content Management System]. To learn how you can create content in the CMS, this article is a great place to start.
Supported browsers
Driftscape for Web will work in all modern web browsers, for desktop and mobile. It is fully responsive, adapting the visual display of content to the size of the browser screen. Specific browsers that have been tested include:
Chrome for desktop (Mac, Windows)
Chrome for mobile (iOS, Android)
Safari (Mac, iOS)
Microsoft Edge (desktop)
Firefox (desktop)
Your content in non-embedded Driftscape for Web
Although most of our customers will wish to view their content in their own web site with the embed described above, your content is also visible in two other ways:
All public Driftscape content is displayed in our general Driftscape for Web URL:
https://webapp.driftscape.com/map
In addition, once your content is set up by our team, they can provide you with a custom URL that displays only your content, like this example from Driftscape Gems:
https://webapp.driftscape.com/map?key=MDE2cFo0bndnQVFwMk43MW4rb2xHZz09
Notes:
The key value in the URL above identifies your content, removing all other content.
Both of these URLs are examples that are hosted on the Driftscape server, NOT on your web site through an embed. For more info of how to embed the web app visit this article.
How long does it take for content to update in Driftscape for Web?
To maximize performance of Driftscape for Web for end-users, there is a slight (approx 15 minute delay) on content updates from the CMS. In effect, there is a ‘cache’ of select internal CMS content that all web app instances make reference to. Therefore, changes you make to your content in the CMS may not show up immediately. We suggested allowing one hour to ensure sufficient time for content changes to be displayed. This is not the same as the content treatment on the mobile app, which refreshes the content immediately upon startup [thus changes show up quicker in the mobile app].
